Late Night: It’s Official – Right-Wing Terror Kills

By: Sunday April 20, 2014 8:00 pm

Here’s something you will never, ever see on any evening TV news program, unless it’s something like Democracy NOW!:

Earlier this week, CNN reported [PW notes: On its website, not on TV] that, in America, people who follow far-right wing ideologies have been responsible for more killings than Islamic extremists since September 11.

CNN notes that, according to a count by the New America Foundation, “right wing extremists have killed 34 people in the United States for political reasons since 9/11″ whereas “terrorists motivated by al Qaeda’s ideology have killed 21 people in the United States since 9/11.”

Oh yes, and 56% of all terror plots in the US from 1995 through 2012 were hatched by right-wing nutjobs.

Feel free to post this on your Facebook pages and otherwise irritate your wingnut relatives.

So what’s on your mind tonight?

And of course al-Qaeda, salafists and jihadis are all right-wing ideologues if they are anything.

Were racist hate crime killings added into those numbers or are they a different category?

Just who did eco terrorist and Anarchists kill? I think I’m reading that from the chart the print is small.

As far as there beliefs are they are the same both are anti Woman, Gay Rights, etc and both would make us all attend church…well the Muslim Terrorists would at least allow dark people in the same church as Whites.

That’s a good question.

ThingsComeUndone April 20th, 2014 at 8:27 pm

What if anything is the FBI going to do about it? Also what percent of funding goes to catching Right Wing Terrorists, and or Racists and what percent is spent spying on Peace Groups, Lefties political groups, FDL etc?

If you could find out that would be appreciated.

whereas “terrorists motivated by al Qaeda’s ideology have killed 21 people in the United States since 9/11.”

Really? What specifically are they referring too? I thought that President Bush kept us safe since 9/11?

Actually, according to the SPLC the numbers are worse. One website alone is accountable for at least 100 hate-crime related murders.

Thing is, with the Southern Strategy being part of the DNA of American conservatism, it’s all but impossible to find a right-wing group that isn’t racist to the core.

What’ on my mind?
Well I got very depressed today because of the stuff I’ve been reading about the way that the rich are just going to use all their money to fund bullshit programs and fund RW belief tanks and Limbaugh. I got angry at the way people have figured out how to hide funding so that they don’t have to take any responsibility for the development of policies that will lead to deaths.

And I’m getting mad when I’m reading a lot of “What are ya going to do? The rich run the world.” The part of me that is a fighter doesn’t just want to stop them, but wants to take their money. The new studies that prove scientifically that we are an oligarchy demand different types of actions. But who is going to act? I’ve been studding how whistleblowers are attacked. I’ve been seeing how people wanting to protect consumers are driven to caution by legal and other tricks and I’ve notice how the narrative of “There really isn’t anything the people can do. ” Screw that.
But I’m also frustrated that successful aggressive acts to go after the oligopoly with anything even resembling financial consequences are watered down and criminal charges are a thing of the past.

Well you asked what was on my mind. 🙂

Here’s my thought, spocko. It takes a leader to turn the tide. Wish it weren’t so, but I think that is the truth. Occupy was ‘interesting’…. but since they denied leadership and organization, they were easily taken out. We on the side of democracy (ha!) don’t seem to have a leader right now. I think Eliz Warren is doing good work, but she’s not a warrior, as it were. Some of us ‘progressives’ thought we had a leader in Obama, but, wow!, he was the sham that my neocon brother warned me about. Live and learn. I’m afraid that things will have to get worse before they get better. I’m not happy about that, but it is as it is.
